Would make her less likely to sign

Talking to someone who I respect last night about the idea to shrink the petition size they said that it would make them less likely to sign a petition from someone they did not know (say like out in front of Albertsons or Safeco Field) because larger petitions seem more official.

This is an argument for campaigns to have a choice what size petition they can use, and the importance of the “no smaller than” language. They would have the choice of “more official” larger petitions for public, and possibly paid, signature gatherers, and smaller petitions for less formal, volunteer gatherers.
